RHH – Contract Procurement

In 2013 MBL were approached by the Royal Household Property services group following a recommendation from a contractor working within the London sites. Following an interview we were appointed to write the necessary specifications, provide an auditable procurement process and manage the process to contract issue.

University of Creative Arts

MBL have been employed by the University of Creative Arts since 2011. We have undertaken various roles, including full external thermographic surveys, lighting level surveys, relighting schemes, design of art galleries within Campus and  provision of replacement boiler plant.

University of Chichester

MBL have been working with Chichester University for two years. We have undertaken various area refurbishment and have provided plant and boiler room refurbishment designs for all campuses.

Nature Way Foods Ltd

MBL were commissioned to provide a detailed performance specification for the provision of a 6000m² processing facility, to overview contractors proposals and to act as clients technical support/engineers.

University of Portsmouth – St. Andrew's Building HQ

MBL were commissioned to prepare performance specification and check contractors  proposals for their relocation from various sites to the St. Andrew's site. We provided full site supervision for the works which were completed in 2012. We have been involved with many projects over the past eight years which include substation relocations, workshop and IT suite refurbishments to name a few.

Yarlington Housing Group – DTT Programme

This contract was for the design, and management of digital TV distribution conversion works across the estate to allow for the removal of terrestrial TV signals programmed for 2008-2012.

Yarlington Housing Group– Electrical Policy

We were commissioned to write and update SSH and SSW Electrical Specification and Company Policy Documents to ensure all works are undertaken to a common standard.

Yarlington Housing Group – Renewable Heating Provision

MBL alongside its associated Energy business (CSCS Ltd) undertook the contract negotiations and on site management of the project to replace old electrical storage heaters with Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) and Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) technologies.

Between August 2012 and May 2013, 540 systems were installed of which 200 GSHP were fitted in the first four month period. That installation was the single biggest GSHP scheme within the country and recently won the H&V Renewable Refurbishment of 2012 award.

Homes in Sedgemoor PPC Contract

MBL are employed to set up a Partnering contract and manage as Core Group co-ordinator the contract between Homes in Sedgemoor and Cirrus Communications for security and warden call system upgrades and maintenance.

Southampton Port Authority

MBL have been employed to provide electrical services design and contract support for various current contracts including provision of new office area (West Bay House), refurbishment of workshops and lighting of car park 5.

Aster Property

Aster have commissioned us to undertake many types of condition survey within their housing stock and office stock. We have also undertaken energy assesments with a view to reducing energy consumption and their carbon footprint. Recently we have reviewed the failover supplies to the main IT suite. This was undertaken to identify the most cost effective option to increase the suites capacity without expanding its physical size. We later wrote the specifications, tendered and over saw the project based on the agreed way forward.

Midas

We have worked closely with Midas on a number of projects to assist with contract overviews, writing of specifications, providing contractor designs and undertaking contract overviews during the construction process of projects.

South East Reserve Forces and Cadet Association - Planned Maintenance Contracts

This contract is for the provision and monitoring of PPM contracts to 31st March 2017.   Overall contract value £500,000. We have also been involved in the design and implementation of a large number of the associations cadet building refurbishments (located across the south) during the past ten years.

Portside Locker, Port Solent

MBL have been employed by Port Solent Ltd, to provide feasibility and design information for an unused building in Port Solent to provide a small craft mall and café area.

Nyetimber Vineyard

MBL were tasked to design along side Miller Hughes Associates a vineyard building in Petworth for the
Nyetimber Estate. The latest development is a grape processing and R&D facility.

Lovell Partnership

MBL have undertaken various roles with Lovells. We have been designers on several large housing developments and have provided initial energy review, full M&E design and associated site management. With Lovells in Stroud we have been assisting in a technical support role with regard their whole house refurbishment programme.
On the commercial side we have recently completed the Foyer building in Portsmouth and a Church and Community Centre in Eastleigh.

Stokes Wine Bar

Designs for the conversion of a listed petrol garage to a wine bar and coffee shop in Stockbridge High Street.
Due to no available gas and the client's wish to minimise maintenance, Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) technology and LED lighting was used where practicable.

Carclo PLC

Carclo is a medical equipment provider. MBL were tasked with designing replacement HV supply and distribution services and then later for a new clean room provision.

Halberry Lodge Hospice - IOW

This project was to provide a fully designed day centre for the hospice on the IOW. The building was a fully designed space for use as a day centre and relatives centre to allow assisted visits for patients
